After watching the videos from the Adelaide 2017 mini by @Fing and @BradsXmasLights I have been thinking about what tips others can add, given members are starting to concentrate on Halloween, Thanks Giving (for the US members), and of course, Christmas.

Obvious ones are switch it off and on again, don't cross the leads, and test test test. My favourite - the hot end of the soldering iron is HOT :( . But what else have others learned that can be shared? Just thinking it could be how to build a prop, or wiring techniques, how to make a slick video, how to encourage visitors, and how to keep them away. How to store for 11 months

Here are the videos if you have not seen them.

Cheers
Brad (not the Brad in the video ;) )

I would have done it differently

I would have found a video that was as close to the prop I wanted and then asked "how do I do this?" instead of thinking I'd read enough to know how to do it.
