    Release 2024.04 Released

Actually, we sequence almost all of our display (out of 40 sequences last year, 4 were from outside sources). We do, however, change the layout from year to year and make changes to the props as well as add new ones (we love variety). The import is used to reassign from one year to another. It...

Same here. Any attempt to import effects creates a crash file and then dumps out of the program. Works great except for importing.

    Trouble installing Xlights

If I remember correctly, Acer Windows Device is a Chrome based machine. This could be a big factor.

    Why do you do it?

After decades of lighting the house with AC of every variety (straight strings, icicles, flashers), I saw a certain "Wizards in Winter" on the net. Having a chance to purchase a display (still AC) I jumped at the chance and promptly sold it to our local drive through (all static) display. The...

    Pixel brightness

Ran the show at 100% brightness many years back. Had people asking if I could "tone it down a bit." After they informed me the show was great, but they needed sunglasses to watch it - we backed off. First at 50%, then eventually back to 30% for most props. There are a few that require higher...

    Mounting Chromaletters and tiles.

You may wish to put a washer between the coro and the spacer. We had the problem of vibration (wind) causing the spacer to dig into the coro. After we put the washers in, no problem. I believe we used fender washers to spread the area of pressure out.

    Heat in my junction box

Some of our friends up in Minnesota (Minnesnowda) put a C9 AC bulb inside their controller boxes. The heat from that small lightbulb, enclosed, is enough to keep the inside of the box warm enough during down times.

    How big is yours?

This year's trees (in the primary display area) are: 12 feet (3.65 meters), 15 strings, 50 pixels per string at 3 inch centers. 16 feet (4.88 meters), 16 legs (PEX tubes with 10/30 strips inside). 22 feet (6.7 meters). 32 strings, 130 pixels per string at 2 inch centers. Almost feels like we...

    Turning on Power supplies

Please forgive the off topic (sort of) question. The image attached is a capture of the above focused on what looks like a Wago. The thing is, looking at it closely it looks like the three ports go through instead of the "normal" Wago of being a buss for connecting 2,3,4 or 5 wires. Am I...

2 matrixes next to each other

As the others have already pointed out, use a group. We have several instances (we call them "Christmas Cards") of matrixes next to each other that are treated like one big matrix. Card 1 Left, and Card 1 Right. Each side has 8 strings with 144 nodes/string with 3 strands/string. (Total that...

Second step is to RUN! If that isn't possible, then definitely check out the 101 manual. A lot of questions get answered that you didn't know you were going to ask!

    Xlights around Australia 2023

Please forgive these old, overused ears - but I could swear she was saying, "An Ugly Ugly Christmas." I know this isn't right, but I listened to it 3 times. (Once with headphones on.) It has to be the accent. Now in my defense, I've got to the point over the years that I CAN understand...
