I currently have a 12v Meanwell power supply that powers my F16v3 from v1 and v2. I also have a 12v to 5v converter off the Meanwell to power my Pii.
In certain sequences (I think when there is a lot of white lights) my F16v3 and/or Pii reboot or lose power, my show goes down for 30 sec then...
I have the PI connected to a smart plug. I shut it down with the script, then the smart power plug turns off 15 mins later. Then I turn the PI and Falcon on 15 mins before my show starts.
Has anyone tried these? GWHOLE Pack of 20 Cable Connector Electrical Wire Connectors for Robotic Lawn Mowers, Irrigation Applications: Amazon.com.au: Home Improvement
They are a 3 wire scotch lock (a few photos show 2 but they are 3)
My bad, I didn't even think it could be a faulty string - but seems the second string (pixels 101-199) is faulty, it blows a fuse on the falcon when directly connected, even with no outputs. Swapped this out and all good.
Thanks for the suggestions!
Just gotta put my fan in... I have a PI in there for FPP and so I can a ccess via WIFI without needing to run ethernet out from my house. Can daisychain further boxes with ethernet output.
Can anyone suggest what I have wrong that causes only the first 100 pixels of my 222 pixel snowflake to light up?
I seem to have the same issue with my (covid creation) Teddy Bear...
Thanks all. I'm still not 100% convinced it's a power issue - I am running my display at 30% and I have only got about half the props connected at the moment. At any rate I will go ahead and upgrade to the 10AWG/5.3mm2 wire.
I have some other issues where I have daisy-chained props which I will...
First show this year so still learning the ropes. Of course I have left it too late! Just started the (6.5m) megatree 2 weeks ago but making major progress and I feel like I am 95% of the way there.
Gotts say this is the most helpful community out there so thanks for everyones contribution...
