You guys in NSW have an odd way of doing things ... how can you have feedback before you have an event?? 8)

They play football weird too. They use their hands most of the time rather than their feet and they throw the ball backwards when they are trying to go forwards.

Looks like an invasion from the south from those that support the game of guys wearing short pants :D

Re: Sydney Mini 2016 april/may we want your feedback

I'll be there this year for sure!

Re: Sydney Mini 2016 april/may we want your feedback

spoke with shire the 4th and 5th look good so I think we will lock it in

Re: Sydney Mini 2016 april/may we want your feedback

Last time I checked this thread, the mini was looking like April/May. Am I right that it is now definitely June4th 5th? As that is our Queens Birthday weekend ( long weekend) it would be perfect opportunity to cross the ditch [emoji3].

Re: Sydney Mini 2016 april/may we want your feedback

sure looks like it Logan would be great to see you again

Re: Sydney Mini 2016 June we want your feedback

ok guys we need to start working on presenters so put your hands up and lets get it all going. 15 mins max on each talk worked well last year

Re: Sydney Mini 2016 June we want your feedback

Could we not say set aside half of a day to split the room and do deeper dives into xlights and vixen and maybe other sequencers. 15 mins is great to introduce a topic but not great if you already have a sequencer but want to learn more about it.

Re: Sydney Mini 2016 June we want your feedback

Might be an option Keith. Im going to pick your brains alot about xlights.

Re: Sydney Mini 2016 June we want your feedback

Sure can Sunday is pretty much a open day so we can focus on areas people want to expand on from Saturday.

we really need to get some people putting there hands up to do talks otherwise there is no point is doing the mini. i need help organising it this year as i really do not have the time to do all the work with organising this yers mini. So would be great to see some new people putting their hands up to help.

Re: Sydney Mini 2016 June we want your feedback

Being a newbie and never having gneiss to a mini before, I don't really know what's involved, but am happy to do some grunt work or whatever might be needed at a basic level. Really looking forward to attending. Let me know if I can do anything.

Re: Sydney Mini 2016 June we want your feedback

any help is good help.

also guys do not pm me about the min all conversation should go here as do not have time to talk 1 on 1 then relay it in here anyway. as you all know this is your mini not mine so lets get some things going

Re: Sydney Mini 2016 June we want your feedback

It does take a lot of work to put a mini together and peoples circumstances change over time that may not allow them the time to give that they once had. This is where other members should step in because in the end its a community meet and everyone should try to give a hand where possible to make it as successful as possible

I can do a 15 minute session or 2 on something people may want to learn
I can also bring my portable light spectrometer to have a play with

Re: Sydney Mini 2016 June we want your feedback

It seems to me there are a handful of topics that have to be done ... it is just a question of who does it ... so we can start with those on the agenda:

Volunteers please: (more than 1 is ok) - also please let us know what interests you and what doesnt.

- xLights introduction
- Vixen introduction
- LOR introduction
- LSP introduction
- DMX/e131 basics
- Boxes & waterproofing
- Controllers
- Managing crowds, visitors and charity collections
- 3D printing
- Build your own wireframes
- Engineering mega trees
- Mounting lights for easy erection and disassembly - maybe a couple of people could contribute here ... brick and concrete tile rooves, weatherboard and tin roofs etc - maybe more of a facilitated session than all content from the presenter.
- Fusing and other safety
- Soldering strips, pig tails etc
- Test equipment and tools ... the right equipment makes the job easier - Keithsw1111
- Coro / Singing faces
- Contributing to open source lights projects - Keithsw1111
- Interactivity - Keithsw1111
- Vixen deep dive
- xLights deep dive - Keithsw1111

What else do people want to learn about?
