First Mega Tree Build

Hey All,

Hope everyone is well, and 2021 Plans are underway nicely.

I am in the process of creating my first Mega Tree this year, and I was curious to see if anyone else had thought to use, or have used, a Cable Spool for the base of their Mega Tree (as pictured)?
I have all the pixels, and components etc, but am still in the planning process for the design.

I have a cable spool available to me, and thought it might make an easy and cheap base (opposed to the custom weld/fabricate idea, or the Trampoline Base idea).

Certainly different that's for sure. What size tree are you aiming for (height/diameter) ?
Personally i did the trampoline base thing and it was a huge time saver and only cost me about $5 in fuel

Cut the diameter of the top down and use it to secure pixel strip but attach to the bottom fixes the height issue and stabilises your pixels with out weaving. I think it's a great idea pole will slip straight in the centre and if you used an adjustable out door umbrella pole (commercial heavy duty one) the set up would be super simple
