HElppp with dmx on f16v3

so i got 3 of the moving heads working but the other one which is a cobra head 150 dosent want to follow its instructions i set the channels correctly but it just moves back and fourth in same pattern and then says LED_GOBO randomly and stops dmx

That sounds like real progress...
The first thing to check is the menu screen ... any chance you have to set a mode on the control panel of the Cobra to get it to listen to DMX, instead of some auto program? Other than that, it could be losing the DMX signal, check for bad cable, no terminator, wrong number of channels sent, something like that, maybe move it around in the DMX chain.

I moved it to first in chain and it works everywhere else it blinds me every time lol

I think it’s just special :) as it’s the only non cheap from online one
In theory you should have one of these at the end of the DMX chain, in the "DMX Out". Now, most of the time when you do not have one, nothing bad happens, but when something bad does happen it follows the symptoms you describe (order on the chain matters, random data behavior), so I'd try a terminator before giving up.

Hmm okay will order now, i now also have to order myself a new beagle bone as I did blow my board out with my p10 display

Seems easy enough might give it a try what’s the worse that happens I mean I will probrably burn myself with soldier more times that humanly possibly but like meh

Double check your equipment. A lot of our lights (DMX) have a switch that implements the terminator. Turn it on for the last item in each DMX line. If yours does not, the plug in terminator is a good choice.

Note that we used to "flag" our DMX device at the end of the chain (simply put a piece of tape or the like on it) to signify that the terminator is on. This way if you change the order of devices on a line, you can readily see that it was on for this device and can be turned off if another takes its place as "last in line".

BTW - the terminator function is to prevent signal echo/bounce. Echo is when the signal reaches the last device and then bounces back up the line. Strange to think that it can do this, but we have seen it using a scope back in school.
