Hello everybody
I know it’s disappointing, but I do not have that much of a light display. Yeah, really sad. But I have been mainly introduced to music synced displays by my friend @DinoChickenSuit. I have gotten interested in this sort of stuff, however I don’t have anywhere to begin, or the money.
However…
I am a music producer and Live Electronic Musician, and I have always wondered if I could sync my synths & stuff to the lights via midi. My next purchase is a midi interface, which allows me to hook the midi to a computer. Would this be possible, and if so, what controller would I need?

Thank you, and happy Christmas-light-ing

This video from 2018 covers using a midi keyboard as a method for triggering a predefined sequence with xSchedule (the scheduler software for xLights). Of course 7 years is a really long time in the world of technology so there may be more up to date methods. I'm not sure if this is quite what you're looking for but perhaps a starting point for going down this rabbit hole.

Also the following thread suggests midi can work with Falcon Player (FPP) as well, by using a plugin:

Thank you! I’ve watched most of the video, and with my lack of knowledge, haven’t understood much so far, however, I know that I can read more about this sort of stuff on other threads. I can also talk about it with my friend.

Thanks!
