Just so i am following. If i buy a pickit3, it will plug into my PIXAD8 without any additional cables needed?

Mine - a Chinese clone/copy from http://www.sureelectronics.net/ - came with the required 5pin cable

It seems the J1Sys site is under maintenance - anyone have a link or download for latest version for a P2? I need to run 2811 from it and I've got it connected and updated IP address but 2811 is not a string option currently.

Reflashing can be a real PITA. You have to be quick about it. It took me 3-4 tries before, being successful.

Did you get the instructions for updating, in the downloaded file?
