I think once all the hidden cost were added up that this may have not been worth the effort as nothing has been said for some time.

You can expect for most items you buy from China like these shipping will typically add 30-50% to the cost. Then as they are big if you want to then distribute them locally you add more to the cost. You can get RGB 36W from many suppliers for approx $50 each without inbuilt DMX and $60 with inbuilt DMX. Landed cost then is more typically $75 to $100 each.
