Hey everyone,

Thought I would share what I have been working on, I am a first timer so any advice would be appreciated. Owning a CO2 laser I thought I would try building my own props and then using Xlights prop scanner/plotter function I have seen online to map out the wiring.

I have also uploaded the files to share the christmas joy for anyone else wanting to use them. I have made them to fit a 700x500mm laser bed with 11.4mm holes for bullet LED's

Ill keep you all posted on how they turn out once my controller and LED's rock up in the mail.

Looks good, I'd just be careful about some of those gaps between pixels as there isn't a lot of material between them and when pushing pixels, it might break.

Also I'd go with 12.4 rather than 11.4 for pushing the pixels If we are talking about bullets

Thanks for the tips! I had seen people use 11.4mm online but if it doesnt work ill go the 12.4mm. My thought pattern was I'd rather go a touch small witha snug fit than too big haha.

What material will you be cutting these out of? I have a CO2 laser and found i think it was 1.8mm Acrylic was the right thickness for bullet pixels and then just worked on getting the hole size correct. I did a very similar shape to your 114 pixel star also, i decided to keep the shape of the pixels but did away with the cutout of the shape as it didnt matter having extra material around it

I’m running a 60W CO2 at 85% and a double pass. It has worked fairly well for these smaller props. Also using the 8mm signage board from Bunnings. Though as others recommended one or two holes were a touch close but have still been usable. I think I made my holes 11mm or 11.5mm which have held the pixels super snug, the signage board has a bit of give to get the pixels though which is helpful. I’d be a touch worried about using straight acrylic unless you have a bit of a key way off the pixels as my ray wu bullets have a flange to hold them in place.

I will checkout the sign board from Bunnings, I had no issue with the acrylic as the holes were just the right size to push the pixels and have them stay in place.
