Hello all. I was wondering what everyone used to bend their pipes or tubes for their displays? I was thinking about buying something like this. Please let me know if this would work for bending a frame for an arch ECT...
So for these sorts of things it would be best to post the link to the product instead of a simple image. The image does not provide enough information. Based upon some of the text that can be seen that looks like a kit for bending copper a/c lines and not electrical conduit. There are a few different ways to bend conduit for arches.
There are also more diy manual ways to do it but they seem to be less precise. It really comes down to how much bending you are going to be doing and how precisee you want to be. The more uses you see for the tool would move up the price ladder.
Agree, when I did the frame for the spooky tree, or other cases where "winging it" was the only option, the manual conduit bender was a good choice. (Those also are pretty well marked for 90 degrees or other common angles.) If I wanted to make 28 even semicircular walk-through arches, I'd go look into rolling benders at Harbor Freight. (I used the hand bender for a couple small HDPE arch supports and... they're kinda lumpy but they do work.)
not sure id waste my time or money unless you have a greater use for a pipe bender
I would just go to your local car exhaust or engineering workshop and ask them to "ROLL" up a full circle in the diameter you want
please be care full you "do not" want them to bend you a circle you want them to "roll" you a circle
shortest video i could find showing the difference between bending and rolling pipe
