Uninterruptible Power Source?

I live in an area where power is interrupted a lot. The house has a backup generator but it doesn't kick on quick enough to stop the interruption to my 3 controllers. Because of my layout they cannot be combined to one UPS. Has anyone used successfully a small UPS that would bridge the gap between the outage and the genny kicking in?
Thanks in advance for your input!

Further to this question:
I am running 3 PiCapV2 (Master and 2 Slaves) <--can i even say that?
With a power outage the network goes down and requires a reboot. If i had a ups on the 3 Pi's would they stop because they arent receiving timing packets immediately or would they finish out the sequence they are currently running and then look for a timing packet for the next sequence?
They run a simple roof outline on 3 buildings currently.

depends how they are set if they are multisync playing from sequence files, they should just finish the sequnce without the sync timing(they may then be out of time), if they are DDP/e131 controlled then they will stop immediatly when the packets are lost

You could get a USB Power bank for each that supplies the right current (3A) and can be charged and run simultaneously. It'd be much cheaper than a bunch of mains UPS systems.

So i run a 12V system. The master Pi/PiHatV2 run approx 1500 lights. Realizing i only need it for a short amount of time (at best 30 seconds) to keep everything rolling how would that wiring look? I am searching for previous USB Powerbank posts with not much luck.....thanks for the reply....has me thinking

What about a ups pi hat. Depending on what pi you have you can get large ones that take 1850 lipo batteries?

If you're talking running pixels off it directly that's a different story. USB power bank won't help. Firstly because they supply 5V only, secondly because you'd plug it in line with the USB power, and with a PiHat, your power comes from the Hat.
You might be able to find some cost effective 12V backup options though.

Depending on how big the load is, could you use one of those portable power stations, they often have a "UPS" mode, double use as a portable power solution for camping, travelling etc outside of the Christmas season, and will run for longer than a standard computer UPS will.
