3.x Vixen Messaging for Vixen 3 Send a Message to your lights

Hey Geoff,
When setting up a launcher you need to setup a command controller in the controller setup (setup display) and a single element, you need to patch the element to the command controller (mine is RDS/Launcher)

You then need to assign the Launcher Effect to the RDS/Launcher Channel in your sequence

then you just need to setup what you want the launcher to do, so it starts with my Matrix then opens messaging and after a certain time I close it off, so another one of my matrix's is displayed, but the name does overlay at this stage, I am going to play around with the new version and times to see if I can work out the perfect timing) here is mine:

Thanks for that, interesting, I wonder if I can make something so instead of closing and opening my app it just stops and starts it. Food for thought.

Hey Geoff,
Ok so I am trying out the SMS option, I have it working through an Android App called RelayMe, you do need to put a large section into your SMS header i.e: [Relay ME] SMS From +61437______ but once this is done it works ok, I have tried multiple names and its ok, the thing with the SMS is it doesn't reply(yet, sorry looking at the upgrade option to test this will let you know)
I would suggest an alternate mobile number & another email though, otherwise every text message you get will go through to emails, $2.00 Vodafone Sim and a $30 recharge for a month should work ok, time and testing will tell, I have an old phone around here somewhere I can test,
The other thing is I am trying to get the timing ok, if I have it as auto the name only just starts up on the matrix gets almost half way then stops, I am trying different times but cant lower the sequence to below 10 seconds when doing it manually, fiddling I can get it close but longer words versus shorter words throw it out,

I still need to sort out the replies for the SMS, I don't have the ability to do that yet so haven't tested it all.

Thanks for picking up the 10sec I will fix that up.

Also I should be able to stop the sequence that is playing when you close the app, so no overlay. Will get back to you when sorted out.

Fantastic, love your work, i upgraded to app, it was only $2.40 so it enables replies, but i have found the issue with the SMS app:

How do I reply to texts from my inbox?

Simply reply to the email, without changing anything in the email header, including subject. This reply will end up in your GMail account which is then processed by Relay ME.

So for this to work with this app at least, the return subject header would need to be whats come in, but this wouldnt work for the normal emails, but if your only setting it up as SMS..... hmmm, well it would work fine, is there anyway the software could process the retrieved header and use that as the return subject heading? just another thought, i am looking into other SMS to email apps and will keep you posted

I havent looked at the start/stop option through Vixen 3 yet however I have now worked out how to stop the sequence that was started by my app, so when you run your launcher to stop my app it will stop the seq at the same time so no overlay.

Thanks for pointing out the launcher as I will differently use this, now to the start/stop.

I can't upload the update file until tonight though.
