As of LightShowPro V2, channel restrictions and licence classes are in place. They are:
Licence limits are calculated from the total number of channels and not the number of universes.
Licences do not expire at the end of the upgrade period - you are free to use the software indefinitely. However, to upgrade to newer releases beyond the included upgrade period, an upgrade fee will apply. Upgrades start from around US$49. More details and to purchase are available on the LightShow Pro website.
Updates are currently suspended while a rewrite of the program is possibly in the works.
