It's often been said that this is a hobby with very high highs and awfully low lows, it can get pretty overwhelming at times.
This Christmas was a saga for me with all sorts of issues but I just kept plodding along and got through it, the reality is the people that come to see our shows aren't...
Bit of an update.
I'm still printing the pixel poppers but thought I'd take a break and print the T&B connections and the strip stabilisers for the strips.
I had a bit of trouble finding the files for these due to my poor filing but tracked them down eventually.
The one other drama I had was...
I have started with my tree upgrade for 2025, it is currently a semi flat 24 string 50 node ws2811 pixel tree approx 5m to the top of the star. I've had it up for a few years now and it has performed vey well to date, it was originally 16 strings of 75/m strip which had great density but was...
Thanks for this Alan.
You got me out of the crap at Christmas with the super fast response with the Baldrick boards, thanks again for that as well. I just purchased another Baldrick so that's 3 now very happy with the boards.
My thoughts exactly, would prefer a standalone not a hat I'm too old for all the complexity of multiple programs/apps. I 'm no good at multi tasking, I can't chew chewing gum and walk at the same time. I still happily use xSchedule on a dedicated laptop to run the show.
I am looking to replace my show controllers with the Baldrick boards and refresh my show in the New Year, my question is, are there plans for larger output controllers.
I centralise my controllers so 32 or 48 outputs would make for any easier change-over.
Hi from Kaiapoi.
My suggestion when building a tree is built it strong, I see lots of Mega Trees in forums bent and broken due to wind especially so stronger is definitely better.
I've used these over the past few years on a Mega tree but I wouldn't recommend them, they are a bit fragile and they have let moisture in. I had them on other props but I have since changed them back to screw type.
I just got hold of a QuinLED-Dig-Quad and a couple of QUINLED DIG2GO to play with to run a few lights out the back yard for my wife's setup. She laboriously laid rows of Bunnings strings last year and I thought I could save her some time by cable tying some seed pixels to plastic mesh and run...
I had been looking at Wired Watts Pig tail sleeves but thought Ali was worth a look and found these. I haven't bought or tried them so can't comment on quality.
