Great effect, how are they mounted?

I just cut the tube to length and capped each with acrylic sheet . They are glued to a piece of timber that was routed so everything stayed in place.

Did you have some automated help for the acrylic discs ?

When I need an acrylic disk I simply use a hole saw in the drill press. Take the centre drill bit out of the arbor and then you will get a nice round cut out with no hole in the centre. Tip: you need to measure the internal diameter of the hole saw, not the external! You MUST use a drill press if this is going to work and secure the acrylic tightly as there is no centre bit.

PS you will need to file the disc to tidy up the edges. This method isnt perfect!
