ESPixelSticks

Connection details for the Wixel, PixAmp and DMX-WiFi modules have been added to the product images section of each item in the web store :)
 
So, Santa came early this year, a few wixels, a dmx-wifi and a pixamp!

Initial thoughts, soldering and compact layout is very nice indeed :) Here's a pic showing the size compared to a V1 and V2 ESPixelstick (must say thanks to Shelby for his development work, without his valiant efforts this awesome little tool would not be possible). So it should fit in a much smaller enclosure,

Caveats: Connector on the wixel will need a small jewellers screwdriver. Would be better to socket the ESP to enable it to be reflashed if necessary.

Otherwise, great to have a local supply, can't wait to see how the dmx board goes, very handy indeed.

I kept the screw terminal header small on purpose to match the compact form-factor I was going for.
I am also considering offering the supply of a header for the ESP-01 module so that it just plugs in and out for easy reflashing if OTA is not being used.
I can also set fallback WiFi settings so that if the ESP cannot connect to the user-defined network it will attempt to fallback to a default network. Could make this something generic like SSID = "MyWiFi" and passphrase = "password123" or something.
 
Any 3.3V TTL serial programmer should work mate. The units I sell are USB to 3.3V TTL serial adapters.
 
My programmers just have the header etc for the ESP module's. Just makes it easier.

If you already have a suitable programmer, you could easily just solder the wires on, flash them up and then remove the wires and you are done.

OK let me know ASAP if you don't mate and I will happily flash the ESP modules with a useful SSID and passphrase for you.
Your order should ship tomorrow too mate as you have just ordered the kits and they don't require further assembly by me.

Happy to try to do it myself, but if you have time could you flash one for said ANTLW password 4540454045

Ok I guess, I will still have to do it myself later as that said is for my work test rig and i plan to use the others at home later on, but at least I will set them up at the office to test them out.

Once the units are initially flashed you can then update to new firmware and adjust settings via the web interface for each unit. No further serial adaptor maddness required usually.
