Garage Matrix Builds

Not too bad, about 1k for each panel new. But if you don’t mind 2-3 or so dead pixels per panel (almost impossible to notice) you can generally get a good deal on ex hire panels

… carry the 2 minus 3 so for my garage door need about 40 panels x $1000 plus other bits and pieces we call it 50k… to run them 2 hours a night for 25 days every year and I wont be able to use garage …. Yep totally doing it!!

You need to factor in pixels, controllers, and the misc costs involved, mounting etc. not to mention the time saved……no brainer imo

For those playing along at home, I finally got my garage matrix up and I could not be happier!
I used 3x of Troy's Boscoyo 2in spacing Chromamesh panels, 1.5 per side.
4 ports per side using Hanson HE123 controller (4 ports on left side, 4 ports on expansion card other side)
Power out of the ports plus 4x more power injection points at nodes 100, 200, 300, 400. Each port is running 432 nodes. I ran it at 40% and it was plenty bright enough and no yellowing even on full white.
I did have to drill temp fence brackets into the brick garage wall (begged forgivness from Mrs DJ) but the end result means we can still use the garage (if it wasn't full of blinky crap!)

Looks clean and well planned. I may still switch to a matrix mesh yet rather than pixel strip . Wasn't sure whether a garage matrix was going to work but seriously who was I kidding! THEY ROCK ! Good job 🤘

Awesome setup Djgra79.

I’m just getting started with pixel lighting and would like to start with a garage door matrix like yours. Was your setup 5V or 12V?

Thanks.
