Is anyone interested in hosting or organising a 2017 mini for QLD?

Steve (superman) has always done it in the past, but I think he wants a break this year.

Previous QLD minis have been mostly in the Ipswich area, at Steve's house or other venue.

Last year's mini was down at Coomera (not too far from Movie World, etc).

Attendee numbers are usually around 20 - 25 from memory, sometimes less on the second day.

I'm keen for another gathering, just haven't been around much lately to see if there is any interest.
The hardest thing about organizing a mini is is making everyone happy with the date, I've looked at my calendar and I have limited week-ends available already.
I am available

13-14 May (maybe not that's mothers day weekend)
3-4 June (Sydney mini is on that weekend)
24-25 June
all of July at this stage.

I'm happy to see if the venue we had last year on the Gold Coast is available.
Lets see if we can find a date and between all of us we will certainly have enough gear to put on a show.

I would love to attend. I can't help out much with venue or hosting, but may be able to provide some food depending on numbers and location.

I could offer a venue at my business at Rocklea, I have a fairly large office with space where we could spread out, at least as much as last years space, I also have plenty of power :).


I don't have a lot of chairs so I guess we could ask people to bring their own.

Hey Guys,


Not sure if you have found a venue yet however I'm happy to hold it at my place. It is out Ipswich way at Karalee but I am on a 4000m2 block and have a 9mx9m shed that can be used. Plenty of room for tables and chairs and to set up lights.


The room is already equipped with a good bright projector, computer and sound system. Next door to this shed is another shed that has bench space for any work that needs to be done.


It would have to be the weekend of the 24/25 Jun.

24th and 25th is good for me. Just give the word and i'll be able to assist you with it.
 
So not sure of the protocol here about getting the BNE Mini to happen,


does someone have to step up as organizer or is someone already doing this?


My office space looks like this , and is at rocklea, but happy to see where everyone wants to go as we have another offer .


Do we also need to generate a plan for speakers and topics?
