Hi Craig,
Put me down for helping out in the kitchen. Maybe afternoon tea or something.

I have 12 x ws2811 attached to plastic lattice that can be rolled up and brought along if there is enough interest to show them off. I run lor with superstar. If people would like a little demo in what it can do let me know and I will bring it along. Also have some neon flex candy canes I could bring a couple of those along to show if interested?

Looking forward to this event & thank you to all involved for making it happen.
Cheers
John
John, I would be interested in seeing all you can bring. Thanks.

Seeing as though I'm not adding anything to the day, just taking away knowledge. I can lend a hand with some food as long as I get to see the presentation on LSP. My wife will be there on sat for vivid and dinner but she may not make it on Sunday. Ill keep you posted.

Please ensure that if you are coming that you have recieved a PM with a free parking permit, make sure you print this out to take and display on your dashboard

Now all we need now is to firm up a meeting place, dinner venue and time for the Saturday night Vivid night, so throw in your final suggestions.

Garden buffet in the casino is good. Has a variety of everything so all tastes catered for, but it is a buffet, so not as nice as ala carte. I don't think you can book for this and gets pretty busy. Dinner $43

I can recommend Thai Foon in darling harbor with a great view over looking the water. Banquets are $35/$40/$45 per person. I personally love thai but it might not be everyone's favorite. This is my all time favourite Thai. 1, the food is awesome and 2, it is outside on the second level of the shops so you get a great view of the water at cockle bay & Vivid aquatique. Just near by is a Vivid sydney harbour shuttle (free service)

Pancakes on the rocks is nice but it's a very indulgent feed. Steaks Pizza Crepes pancakes, but you may need a sleep after.

These are just some suggestions and past experiences. I'll be happy anywhere.

Something I would like to learn more about is the nutcraker program & hopefully get it to run with LOR.

I also hope to get a bit of an incite to 3dmaping imagery being at the sydney vivid

Hi Guys,

I will be there on Sunday but am yet to receive the parking pass via PM. I did notice my attendance is noted for all Saturday's activities on page 1 but not a confirmed starter for the mini on Sunday which would possibly explain no PM.

Could I possibly get a parking permit sent via PM and/or other instructions for the day?

Many thanks and looking forward to it :)

Guys, I think the suggestions for dinner thus far are good. However they are in the Darling Harbour area. The main Vivid festival is in Circular Quay with some lights in Darling Harbour. Circular Quay is about a 30 minute walk from Darling Harbour (20 minuters for those power walkers). You can catch the train from Town Hall to Circular Quay if you have a small family (like me) and walking that distance on top of the walking associated with the festival, will be an issue for the littlies.
So I think the first question is what part of the city do we want to have dinner in? Darling Harbour or Circular Quay? Then we can focus our efforts to find a suitable venue.

True the main vivid lights are in circular quay, but they have added an aquatic vivid in darling harbor and the maritime museum has also joined in. There is also a free ferry shuttle service which departs near the maritime museum. I have attached a map.

Vivid Sydney Harbour Shuttle (Free) loops between Ives Steps Wharf (Walsh Bay) to Jeffrey Street Wharf (Kirribilli) to Pyrmont Bay Wharf (Pyrmont) and Towns Place Wharf (Walsh Bay). The ferry loop operates from 6pm each night during Vivid Sydney with final services ending close to midnight. The regular service departs from each wharf every 40 minutes with increased services between 8pm and 10pm. First ferry departs from Ives Steps Wharf at 6pm

This does sound like a great option so we can see the whole show and start over at Darling Harbour/Casino for dinner then look at the lighting attractions in that area and then catch the shuttle ferry across to Circular Quay to see the main attractions.

If we are going to start in Darling Harbour, then how about Oscars in Pyrmont. Just down the road from the casino towards Darling Harbour. Menu attached.
Have been there before, it is open, group friendly and will allow people to mingle as well as eat. More of a pub/club atmosphere than a formal sit down and talk to the person opposite and next to you.

Thoughts? There are a few pubs up the road (near Oscars) that are good as well. Regardless of where you go drinks are going to be expensive. It is the city after all. Expect to pay $6-$7 a beer regardless where you go.
