Yeah I am going to try and come on here a little bit more, starting to make plans for this year, although the remaining landscaping still needs to be done, lol.. my ass has been missing the boot actually, the imprint has started wearing off.
Great to see there will be over 1000000000 people coming this year, its really starting to take off...

I won't be able to get there, but it would be good if (a) someone were to video the talks and make them available, and (b) if someone could do a talk on the mechanics (for want of a better word) of implementing the display - i.e the bits that AREN'T electrical.

The sorts of things that come to mind around the mechanics - attaching lights (how to attach to walls (rendered walls vs brickwork)/roofs/window frames (internal and external displays), strings cable tied/cable tied/glued to pvc pipe, cable ties/concrete nails/electrical clips/gutter clips etc), using stainless over iron pegs, wire rope, quick connectors for attaching strings together, hot glue vs any other sort of glue etc. It could also cover any regular item that's been dragged kicking and screaming into being a part of a light display (eg. bent coathangers or pegs might be a crucial part of someone's display)
I'm sure there's lots of expertise and experiences as to when a certain solution works and when it doesn't, which ones are easier, which are safer etc etc.

@bbayjohn i would like to learn more on layers. like blending and layer settings. when using layers in what order does it work etc. it is a very powerful part of xlights.

matrix. adding singing faces and basic setup.
