There's a chance I won't be able to get there this year, but I won't know until closer to the date.
Come down south for a change, put faces to names!

Hi Guys,Depending on dates, put myself and Stan down. I can also work out some doors prizes.Damien

Hey Damienn Any chance you are going to bring down your 6ft singing Christmas tree ?
Would really like to see that, your light clips and your colour mix LED light.

I'll see what I can do, might have to get Stan to sit on the roof rack to fit the trees in... I will also bring some new Blinky things down as well.

Damien

In order to get a call for presenters - What topics are people interested in?

eg, off the top of my head from previous years:
-Basic Intro to different lights / wiring
-xlights Sequencer intro
-Vixen Sequencer intro
-Pi Player
-Display Tips
-IP Networking 101
-P10 Panels
-Controllers
-waterproofing
-Show tips
-Your project/gizmo
-or something else?

Keeping each presentation to 15-20mins should keep sanity for all.

I'd also consider pre screen-capture any software demo's/screens in to PowerPoint slides so time isn't lost navigating/driving software on the day.

Is it possible to add incorporating other lights into the show?

LOL.
I like the idea of the changeable blinky things.
As a complete newbie last year - I think I was a member for a month or two (?)
I didn't know what to bring - apart from a huge jar of Moccona Coffee and choc coated biscuits to keep us alert :eek::sleep::sleep:
This year I'll bring my wallet
Are you guys accepting card or only cash ?
Debit card would be convenient, otherwise its a trip to find an atm ;)o_O:p

Hey guys I have little to no knowledge, but constantly learning.

I had the fortune of purchasing a swag of LOR equipment: 12 x cmb16, 4 x CMB24, Showtime controllers, the software package , 4 singing christmas trees trailer load of lights, props, mega tree and a whole lot more (you get the idea) for a grand ! One humdinger of a bargain. - seller was going 100 % smart pixels and had the stuff for sale for nearly 2 years and wanted it "out of the place"
I would like to know how to incorporate Allan's Mega60 controllers for more RGB Lights and his DMX2-18 to control all my 2 wire Store purchased lights.
I know, I know, cringe cringe.

My questions / interest will be based on LOR and DMX combos - what solutions are available etc etc

By "other lights" do you mean Store bought stuff, We do show controllers that can be connected to these lights.
Was thinking more around what store lights can and cant be used, how to spot the difference etc. using props like santa waving etc as well.

Yes. We will show how store bought lights can be utilized and what to look out for

I would usually update this info in the Wiki but as it hasn't quiet come back online yet I will give a brief overview of how the weekend will run.
Saturday we will start at the beginning with presentations on.
What is Computer controlled Lighting
Type of lights
different ways to control lights. The absolute basics.
Throughout the weekend we will have many different types of working controllers and lights that we will connect from scratch and control with test software.
The day and topics will get more advanced as the day progresses.
Sunday has traditionally been a day to break off into groups and learn from senior members based on what needs to be seen.
this can include but not limited to:-
basic electrical understanding.
computer networking
Software
Soldering
The weekend as a whole is full of invaluable information and hands on experience and I would encourage any Newbies to attend both days to get a full advantage out of the wealth of Knowledge that will be available to you.

see you there.
Steve
