Licence level comparison
From July 2025 and starting with version 6.4.0, the licence tiers have been overhauled, with Basic Plus and Standard tiers eliminated and the lowest basic tier expanded to support up to 4 traditional LOR controllers or 680 RGB pixels. New pricing and licence tiers are as follows:
*Licence limits are calculated from the total number of channels and not the number of universes.
Licences do not expire but must be renewed in order to gain access to newer releases beyond 12 months or 1 major release (whichever is longer). More details including download and purchase options are available on the Light-O-Rama website.

SuperStar
SuperStar is a pixel-centric paid addon with pricing starting at $29.95 and rising to $249.95 depending on the number of pixels supported. Feature development has ceased as of 2023, most likely due to the primary LOR sequencer handling pixel sequencing much better than it once did. SuperStar started out as a third party software before becoming first party with S3's release over a decade ago.
Light-O-Rama S5 vs S4
With S5's release, S4 and earlier versions are labelled as 'ShowTime Designer Classic', and S5 as 'ShowTime Designer Pixels'. S5 combines Sequencing Editor, Pixel Editor and Visualiser into a single application. More details:
